It’s that time again! New years resolutions have been made, and spring is just around the corner. Its time to shed some of that winter weight! We at Arbor Teas know what you’re thinking: who wants to cut out their favorite foods and who has time to slave away at the gym? That’s why we’ve got you covered! This season, reach your weight loss goals with that oh so delicious refreshment, tea!

Enjoy the foods you like: Tea and its Fat Fighting abilities!

Love sweets but not ready to give them up? No worries! Tea may be able to help you eat your favorite guilty pleasures without the guilt. A new Taiwanese study suggests that some teas have a fighting power against the fats we ingest from our diet. Tea may help the body lower the levels of triglycerides and cholesterol. The study suggests that the best teas for this fat fighting task are Oolong, Puerh, Green and Black tea. While monitoring your diet and exercise will help you meet your weight-loss goals, tea may help kick-start that goal while allowing you to enjoy your favorite sweets in moderation.

Thirsty? Quench it with some tea!

It’s important to keep the body hydrated. While doctors say that we should drink about 64 ounces (about 8 glasses) of water each day, many of us don’t meet this standard. Not to mention, many of us substitute our water supply with sugary drinks like pop. Cutting out these sugary drinks and replacing them with tea may do a body good! One cup of tea (8 ounces) only has 2 calories and no fat (given that you don’t add sugar or cream)! The body needs plenty of water to function so start drinking that delicious tea!

Caffeine: Burning your calories for you!

Depending on the type of tea, there may be caffeine in it. A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that caffeine may increase your metabolic rate by 16% for approximately 3 hours! What does this mean for us? Even if you’re not at the gym, your body will be working hard to burn calories! This is fantastic news for many of us who can’t make it to the gym everyday.

While actively monitoring your diet and creating an exercise plan that fits your needs will help you reach your body goals, a cup of tea may help you reach those goals faster, and with less work! Check out our large assortment of organic teas to help you start on your way to reaching your weight loss goals ASAP!
