What are Flavored Teas?

Organic Tea with Pineapple and Passionfruit Flavor

Our delicious flavored teas use the same top-quality organic tea that we offer in our unflavored varieties, but are blended with pieces of real fruit, spices, flowers, and 100% natural flavors. When blending our teas, our goal is to create a cup that balances the taste of the tea with the flavors of the additional ingredients so that neither one overpowers. All of the natural flavors we use are either extracts taken directly from the botanical ingredient, or extracted using 100% GMO-free grain alcohol as a solvent. You can rest assured that none of the flavors used in our blends are synthetically or artificially derived, and do not use artificial preservatives.

Steeping Instructions

product-steeping-img.jpg

At Arbor Teas, we believe tea should be brewed to suit your personal taste. We’re happy to make recommendations to get you started, but don’t hesitate to experiment! When brewing your tea, your main considerations are tea quantity, water temperature, and steeping time. We recommend green and white teas to be steeped for 2 to 3 minutes in water heated to not-quite-boiling, just as bubbles begin to form on the bottom of the pan (approximately 170 to 180 degrees F). For the best flavor, use fresh water whenever possible. Try not to steep your tea longer than necessary, as you’ll extract undesirable bitterness from the leaves. If you want a stronger brew, don’t steep longer, just use more tea. And don’t forget to re-steep your tea leaves to get the most out of your leaf!

Health Benefits

Green Tea Health Benefits

Like all true tea, green tea offers many potential health benefits. Research has found that tea (Camellia sinensis) can have many positive effects on human health, including improved cardiovascular function, cancer risk reduction, improved immune function, improved oral health, and help with weight management. Tea is also full of polyphenols, which are a class of antioxidant that help your body maintain homeostasis and balance your stress levels.

Green tea specifically is known for its array of health benefits, which have been supported by a growing number of studies. Green tea research has demonstrated that it may be an effective anticancer agent for breast cancer, lung cancer, kidney cancer and prostate cancer, among others. Studies have shown a link between green tea and weight loss, and the ability to modulate energy metabolism, aid in body fat regulation, and possibly promote preferential loss in abdominal fat. Research has also shown that green tea may increase performance for short term memory tasks, as well as being increasing potency of antibiotics. Other peer-reviewed studies link green tea to healthy skin, help with lowering cholesterol, and regulating diabetes. It’s important to keep in mind that many of these studies monitor subjects who drink several cups of green tea per day.

    Perfect Summer Drink

Posted by Grace C. on 11th Aug 2021

I am new to drinking tea and after one serving from my sample pack, I bought more in bulk! I use the cold brew iced tea method (using Arbor Tea's ForLife pitcher) and keep it in my fridge - it's my favorite afternoon pick-me-up. I find that the pineapple flavor is perfectly subtle and doesn't require added honey, lemon, etc. I've also mixed the iced tea into adult beverages and it adds a fruity summer twist!

    It is simply amazing!

I received this as a Christmas gift. Oh, man! I love it! I have found myself drinking the tea like crazy. I love anything pineapple, and this has the right amount!

    SUBTLE! A True Treat!

Posted by Tammy Browning-Smith on 13th Aug 2019

This is a subtle flavored tea and a pleasant surprise. Just three minutes at the recommended tsp and a half per 8 oz left a subtle tropical flavor. I can't wait to try some of the other suggestions lefts in the reviews. I was worried there may be some bitterness but that was not the case at all. I have been trying to find a Green Tea that isn't too bitter but not bland - THIS HITS THE SPOT! I can't wait to try it as iced tea but I definitely agree that it will need to be stronger for an Iced Tea brew. I bought a few samples of this and I can't wait to start buying full packages. A true treat for the senses.

    Perfect Cold Brewed

Posted by Nadine Chen on 22nd Jun 2019

I mix this with Bai Mu Dan White Tea, about 50/50, and cold brew it for the most amazing summer refreshing drink. On its own, the flavor profile isn't my favorite which is why it's only 4 stars, but it's still an amazing tea.

    I didn't know I needed this

    Posted by Ching-shih on 1st May 2019

Unexpectedly, this has become one of my favorite teas. It's quite mellow and smooth for a fruit tea, and I love that characteristic combined with the pineapple flavor.

    Sweet tea

Posted by Abbey Lacy on 27th Jan 2019

It was a little too sweet for my taste as an every day tea but would make a terrific iced tea in the summer.

    Fantastic

Posted by Evgenia on 10th Mar 2018

I've been an experienced tea lover for at least 20 years and I've tried very very many teas in many countries. I actually always carry my favs with me when I travel. This tea is amazing and is coming with me on my next trip! Thank you for the great quality and taste. I am so happy I found this tea company cause I've been struggling without good tea in the US!

    Delicious Fruity Green Tea

Posted by Ashley Freelove on 20th Sep 2016

This green tea is delicious hot or iced! It offers a wonderful pineapple/fruity flavor and scent and is one I would enjoy during any season. I only wish that it brewed stronger. Personally, I discovered that the recommended amount was not enough for me as I could hardly taste any flavor (I enjoy both coffees and teas very strong). To compensate, I found that brewing approximately triple the amount (1 tablespoon) per 8 or so ounces created the perfectly fruity green tea ( also brewed longer than recommended on purpose). I encourage anyone who enjoys green tea to try this one, and to experiment with various ratios of tea to water and longer brewing times. (For reference: I made this as iced tea by cold brewing 1 tablespoon tea per 8 oz for 15 hours...it came out perfect!)

    Excellent

Posted by Judy on 21st Jan 2016

I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of green tea - I am a die hard fan of strong black tea (I think the English call that muddy LOL). So, when I tried this tea I was blown away but how delicious it is. It has a slight green tea taste which is very mellow and the tropical fruit component is also very mellow. The mix is heavenly. I am thrilled since green tea has so many health benefits - now I found one that I love! Thanks everyone at Arbor Teas for providing such a wonderful variety of top quality delicious teas for all of us to enjoy.

    Pineapple heaven

    Amazing

Posted by Jesse on 24th Feb 2015

After receiving my first Arbor Teas order this was the first tea I dug into. I was so impressed by the hand-written note that accompanied the order, and was even more impressed by the quality of these teas! The pineapple passion green smells incredible, and brews to a very subtle and fruity taste that is perfect when sweetened slightly. This is flavored tea done right. Nothing about this is heavy or artificial. I've never experienced teas this fresh. Will most definitely be returning to purchase more, probably exclusively.

    Wow.

Posted by Jordan L on 16th Jan 2015

This tea was everything I hoped and expected, the smell and taste are fantastic with sweet and tangy hints especially after it starts to cool a little. T-Sacs I've filled with 2 Tablespoons will last me at least 3 full flavor cups and two more great tasting cups after that.. This and the Mango Black are very good howevr the fruit taste is much more present and notable in this one I believe.

Sweet aroma and a subtle flavor

Posted by Ellie Lynne on 28th Jul 2014

I am not the biggest green tea fan in the world, but I'm not opposed to trying new things and am trying to get my father into branching out from his usual unflavored teas. He picked this one (amongst several others from a list I thought we should try) and we got the sample size. I love the blue cornwall flowers scattered amongst the tea leaves. The aroma of the tea is very sweet, so I was surprised at how subtle the flavor was in comparison. This is a tea that I definitely prefer iced and slightly sweetened with honey or sugar. It's great on a hot day and doesn't have that bitterness that comes with some green teas I've had. It pairs great with a fruit salad in the summer time!

    Beyond our imagination!

    Posted by Yen-Wen C. on 14th Mar 2014

We never have any tea with pineapple before. Now we know how beautiful it can be. Wow!!! We truly enjoy this subtle surprise! It's extremely refreshing and not too overpowering with pineapple flavor. It goes very well with savory foods! (We use half of the required amount and the flavor is pleasant, not weak at all) We had some savory snacks like crackers with seaweed seasoning, the tea goes very well with it! We even try white cheddar crackers with it, still works! The tea doesn't steal the taste of whatever you eat. It's very welcoming! Instead of drinking water/juice/soda with your meal.... how about some pineapple green tea?

Pineapple Passion Green Tea is one of my favorites. The scent will remind you of tropical vacations and it has the perfect hint of flavor without being too sweet.

Mild and Fruity Flavor - LOVE IT

Posted by Tammy Smith on 16th Dec 2013

This is a Green Tea for anyone. This green tea has such a smooth and mild flavor and is perfect both hot or cold. I made up a large pot and left some hot and some cold - I loved it both ways. It also brews to such a beautiful color - my guests even commented before they tasted it that is smells and looks beautiful!

Wish I would have bought the bigger bag!

Posted by Becky Joy on 12th Sep 2013

I just received my 3.5 oz bag, that I ordered after trying the Green Tea Flavored Sampler (THAT I LOVED!), and wished I would have purchased the 10 oz because my husband is now making this his morning "Cup of GO". He's a pineapple and green tea lover, so this blend fits his taste buds perfectly. I too am fond of the pineapple. This tea is fruity and fresh tasting and lacks that unpleasant grassy taste of some green teas. Overall, I love this tea and will be getting the 10 oz. bag in the near future. Enjoy! :-)

A Tea that even kids LOVE!

Posted by Kendall Massi on 5th Feb 2013

I first had Arbor's Pineapple Passion Green Tea at a Coffee/Tea Bar on vacation in Key West, FL. My daughters (10 & 11) said they HAD to try it because it smelled so good! We ended up having to visit this Tea Bar everyday to each get a cup of this wonderful, not overly sweet, smooth & satisfying tea. I then came home & had to order a bag for ourselves! We are now enjoying it in AZ & it makes us think of being on vacation every time we drink it!

    Love this tea

Posted by Christy on 15th Sep 2012

I thought I should write a review because I have been drinking this tea for years. It is my most favorite green tea ever. I am not a fruit tea person but the pineapple in this tea is not overwhelming and quite perfect. I use it in the summer as an iced tea as well and have loved it. I highly recommend this tea!!

    This tea won me over!

Posted by Happy green tea drinker in Dixie on 12th Aug 2012

When my husband started drinking green tea for the health benefits, he encouraged me to make the switch from my daily sweetened iced tea to green tea. Several samplers later, this Pineapple Passion Green Tea won me over! It has just the right hint of fruity flavor without being too sweet! It's the perfect combination!

    Great Summer Tea

Posted by Antony Galbraith on 5th May 2010

I bought this tea in anticipation of the approaching warmer seasons. Recent and unexpected 90 degree weather allowed me to try this tea earlier than planned. I was not disappointed. This tea is fruity, fragrant and refreshing. It is excellent hot or iced. I highly recommend it.

    AWESOME

Posted by Christy Wu on 29th May 2008

I love this tea! It's my favorite green tea blend. I don't really like fruity teas but the pineapple is so perfect with the green tea. I drink it everyday.

    best green tea

Posted by Randall on 2nd Jan 2008

This is the first green tea I've found that I like. I don't know if it's the flavor of the pineapple or that the green tea itself is better but it's quite good. This of course leads me to the dilemma of whether I try other Arbor Tea varieties of green tea in hopes that it's the tea or just be happy I finally found a green tea that is this good.

    Get ready for blue!

Posted by Bill Edwards on 12th Nov 2007

This tea scared me a little as I watch the blue kick in. I ran back in to the description and saw it really is supposed to be there. Unusual but fascinating--like my alma mater--blue and gold. Another (along with raspberry) great way to get the fruit taste without the sugar. I like to brew these tea/tisane combos for a bit longer maybe 5-6 minutes to get the fruit flavor. My three star rating reflects my preference for ʺstraight teaʺ. If I rated within category easily a 4 star rating for this and the raspberry tea.
