What are Flavored Teas?

Organic Tea with Raspberry Flavor

Our delicious flavored teas use the same top-quality organic tea that we offer in our unflavored varieties, but are blended with pieces of real fruit, spices, flowers, and 100% natural flavors. When blending our teas, our goal is to create a cup that balances the taste of the tea with the flavors of the additional ingredients so that neither one overpowers. All of the natural flavors we use are either extracts taken directly from the botanical ingredient, or extracted using 100% GMO-free grain alcohol as a solvent. You can rest assured that none of the flavors used in our blends are synthetically or artificially derived, and do not use artificial preservatives.

Steeping Instructions

product-steeping-img.jpg

At Arbor Teas, we believe tea should be brewed to suit your personal taste. We’re happy to make recommendations to get you started, but don’t hesitate to experiment! When brewing your tea, your main considerations are tea quantity, water temperature, and steeping time. We recommend green and white teas to be steeped for 2 to 3 minutes in water heated to not-quite-boiling, just as bubbles begin to form on the bottom of the pan (approximately 170 to 180 degrees F). For the best flavor, use fresh water whenever possible. Try not to steep your tea longer than necessary, as you’ll extract undesirable bitterness from the leaves. If you want a stronger brew, don’t steep longer, just use more tea. And don’t forget to re-steep your tea leaves to get the most out of your leaf!

Health Benefits

Green Tea Health Benefits

Like all true tea, green tea offers many potential health benefits. Research has found that tea (Camellia sinensis) can have many positive effects on human health, including improved cardiovascular function, cancer risk reduction, improved immune function, improved oral health, and help with weight management. Tea is also full of polyphenols, which are a class of antioxidant that help your body maintain homeostasis and balance your stress levels.

Green tea specifically is known for its array of health benefits, which have been supported by a growing number of studies. Green tea research has demonstrated that it may be an effective anticancer agent for breast cancer, lung cancer, kidney cancer and prostate cancer, among others. Studies have shown a link between green tea and weight loss, and the ability to modulate energy metabolism, aid in body fat regulation, and possibly promote preferential loss in abdominal fat. Research has also shown that green tea may increase performance for short term memory tasks, as well as being increasing potency of antibiotics. Other peer-reviewed studies link green tea to healthy skin, help with lowering cholesterol, and regulating diabetes. It’s important to keep in mind that many of these studies monitor subjects who drink several cups of green tea per day.

    Great fruity notes

Posted by My New Favorite Flavored Green Tea on 1st Sep 2020

I love green tea but sometimes want a fruity infusion to mix it up. I used to drink mango green tea but this raspberry is my new go-to. Does not taste artificial like some flavored teas do. I got the sample but will be back for the regular size soon.

    Intensive aroma

Posted by Evgenia Chirkova on 22nd Apr 2018

I really loved the flavor and the smell. It is strong but I personally think it does not smell artificially. I think it smells great and natural. However, I realized that the taste is a little too sour for me. So, I would probably prefer to have less hibiscus in it. Other than that, it is another great tea in my collection.

    Beautiful & delightful

Posted by Unknown on 20th Feb 2017

Beautiful color with strong natural raspberry flavor. You would never guess this was a green tea. Great iced. For added fun in the summer, make it a mojito without the rum by adding mint. It's very refreshing this way. Per ounce mix in .25 ounces mint.

Raspberry Favor Stronger Thank I Expected

Posted by Sharon on 19th Mar 2016

Sometimes I like a hint of favor in my tea, but this was overwhelmingly raspberry. I kept pulling the dried fruit out and throwing them in a jar so I ended up with about one half to one third of the amount of dried raspberry, which I found more satisfactory. I'm still using up the dried fruit with my plain green tea...a nice addition.

Not for those used to subtle teas

Posted by Janet Hawkins on 6th Sep 2015

I ordered 10 oz of this tea months ago, thinking it would be a perfect alternative to my usual jasmine pearl and Japanese Gyokuro green teas, but it's still sitting untouched in the storage tin, save for the first pot I made. The flavoring is so overpowering and artificial-tasting that I can't bring myself to brew it.

    pleasant taste, pretty color

Posted by Unknown on 11th Jan 2015

I gave a flavored green tea sampler pack to my sister for christmas. She said this was her favorite so I ordered it to try it out. After reading the reviews, I didn't have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. The flavors are delicate and nuanced. The color of the steeped tea is a beautiful pink color. I sweetened it with a tiny amount of stevia. I will purchase this again.

Was thinking the taste would be more obvious.

Posted by Laschman on 23rd Apr 2014

Was hoping for more I guess. I have brewed longer times, variances in water temp. Just can't get a powerful flavor. I was only thinking this as it is a flavored tea, and can only get a hint of the raspberry flavor. It's good though, just seems a bit light to me.

    How raspberry tea should be!

Posted by Yen Wen C. on 28th Feb 2014

When I found Arbor tea website, I was quite excited knowing the teas are top quality and the owners are keeping good eco and responsible thoughts for the business. Audrey had carefully answered my email about how Arbor tea are flavored. (THANK YOU Audrey!) I was willing to give flavored teas a chance because I tried to avoid anything artificial. I have found my kind of raspberry tea finally! I knew raspberry tea were the tea I tried to avoid the most in the past because of the acidic/sharp taste of raspberry usually overpower everything else, including the snacks. NOT THIS ONE!!! It's very smooth! The raspberry flavor goes very well with green tea surprisingly. Even when I let the tea leaves sit in the cup for a while, the tea just become stronger not sharper :) AMAZING!! I love cooking and baking. I think good quality drinks/foods truly inspire our senses. I'm so happy that I started with raspberry tea this morning. Highly recommend!!! I can't wait to try other kinds :)

    Light fruit flavor

Posted by Lauren on 26th Feb 2014

I'll start this review with a caveat - I typically prefer black teas to green teas. Green tea usually has too much of an earthy/vegetal taste for me, however I've been trying to sample more green teas to expand my pallet. If you like green tea taste you'll love this tea - the raspberry is fairly subtle but noticeable and does not overpower the green tea. The green tea taste was a bit overpowering for me, but would be perfectly delicious for people who enjoy green tea more than I do.

    The best of both worlds!

Posted by Adam on 23rd Aug 2013

My wife wanted to try this because she was looking for a fruity tea but loves green tea. . . . . . that can be a pain to find! She came across this and I have to admit, I had doubts about it. I am not much of a raspberry fan and was afraid that the taste would be overpowering and taste almost . . . .fake. I was wrong; this tea, I would say, gave off just a hint of raspberry without being overpowering and it followed with a wonderful green tea flavor. I would advise making this tea in a glass teapot. The reason being that it is a real pleasure just to watch the tea brew. The tea leaves, are for the most part, fully intact, whole leaves. As it brews, it gives off a nice light pink infusion. I was able to get three infusions before the raspberry pieces became used up. Another great tea from Arbor Teas!

Takes longer to brew but worth it

Posted by Kathy M. on 14th Feb 2013

I love the light flavor of raspberry mixed in with the green tea leaves. It does take a little longer to brew but its definitely worth the wait.

    Delicious!

I really enjoy this raspberry tea. I do steep for an extended time to get the most flavor that I can. This would be nice either hot or cold.

    Pleasant surprise

Posted by Fred Cox on 18th Jun 2009

I normally don't care for flavored teas. I got the raspberry green tea by mistake but am delighted with it. I like to leave everything in the cup and munch as much as drink; this subtle tea rewards that policy: the raspberry bits float on top providing tiny tart exclamations of flavor, while the mellow tea leaves rest quietly at the bottom showing no bitterness or astringency even after long immersion. This tea tastes like desert!

    Delicious fruit/tea blend

Posted by Johanna Miller on 11th Mar 2008

I am a big fan of teas blended with fruit or herbal ingredients and this one is just the thing. Unlike the usual fruit blends that have a strong hibiscus base, here the hibiscus takes more of a back seat, and doesn't cover up the raspberry.

    long brew needed

Posted by Bill Edwards on 8th Nov 2007

This is a mild green that does not seem to get bitter with a longer brew. That is a good feature since a longer brew is needed to appreciate the raspberry flavor. I like the red color before brewing. When brewed it is a delicate tan/pink. A great tea for a change from the usual!
