Matcha Pouring Bowl

This modern katakuchi, or spouted serving bowl, by Barry Braun at Swallowtail Pottery features a rounded open bowl and elegant yet compact pouring spout. The handcrafted design is ideally suited for preparing matcha for multiple people. Matcha can be prepared and frothed in the pouring bowl then transferred to several individual drinking bowls or cups. Or use this spouted bowl to prepare matcha for use in other delicious matcha recipes. For example, easily transfer your whisked matcha into a tumbler of tart and sweet lemonade, pour over vanilla ice cream for a delicious Matcha Affogato, or pour into your Arbor Teas Glass Travel Cup for matcha on the go!

By The Shore is a soft matte glaze, with a fluid character that offers unique variations from piece to piece. The cool blueish-green palette evokes the rippling bodies of water of our very own Michigan Great Lakes. Encompassing hues of pale algal green to ocean blue, the glaze is dotted with brown speckles reminiscent of lakeshore pebbles. The unglazed foot provides a non-slip grip for holding and pouring. Add one or two of our matcha bowls of the same glaze to make a great matching set!

This bowl is part of our collection of American-made teaware. With a shape and weight that is pleasing to the hand and mouth, our matcha bowls are not only perfect for preparing organic matcha but are also dishwasher and microwave safe (just like our other matcha bowl designs). All glazes are non-toxic and lead-free.
