Organic Citrus Ginger Green Tea

compostable-tea-packaging-1.jpg

This Fair Trade Certified organic loose leaf tea combines the refreshing tartness of citrus fruits and the zing of ginger in an uplifting blend that is nicely complemented by the green tea base. The sencha-style organic Chinese tea base is sourced from the Dazhangshan Tea Garden in the Jiangxi Province of China, where it maintains the region’s 1,200-year reputation as the “golden triangle” of exceptional tea production. The bright yellow green infusion has a medium body and astringency. Like all of our tea blends, our Citrus Ginger Green uses only the highest quality organic green tea, essential oils and botanical ingredients, ensuring an excellent cup every time!

Ingredients: organic and Fair Trade Certified Chinese green tea, organic orange peel, organic ginger root, organic calendula petals and natural orange and ginger flavors

What are Flavored Teas?

Organic Tea with Orange & Ginger Flavor

Our delicious flavored teas use the same top-quality organic tea that we offer in our unflavored varieties, but are blended with pieces of real fruit, spices, flowers, and 100% natural flavors. When blending our teas, our goal is to create a cup that balances the taste of the tea with the flavors of the additional ingredients so that neither one overpowers. All of the natural flavors we use are either extracts taken directly from the botanical ingredient, or extracted using 100% GMO-free grain alcohol as a solvent. You can rest assured that none of the flavors used in our blends are synthetically or artificially derived, and do not use artificial preservatives.

Steeping Instructions

citrus-ginger-tea-steeping-instructions.jpg

At Arbor Teas, we believe tea should be brewed to suit your personal taste. We’re happy to make recommendations to get you started, but don’t hesitate to experiment! When brewing your tea, your main considerations are tea quantity, water temperature, and steeping time. We recommend green and white teas to be steeped for 2 to 3 minutes in water heated to not-quite-boiling, just as bubbles begin to form on the bottom of the pan (approximately 170 to 180 degrees F). For the best flavor, use fresh water whenever possible. Try not to steep your tea longer than necessary, as you’ll extract undesirable bitterness from the leaves. If you want a stronger brew, don’t steep longer, just use more tea. And don’t forget to re-steep your tea leaves to get the most out of your leaf!

Health Benefits

green-tea-health.jpg

Like all true tea, green tea offers many potential health benefits. Research has found that tea (Camellia sinensis) can have many positive effects on human health, including improved cardiovascular function, cancer risk reduction, improved immune function, improved oral health, and help with weight management. Tea is also full of polyphenols, which are a class of antioxidant that help your body maintain homeostasis and balance your stress levels.

Green tea specifically is known for its array of health benefits, which have been supported by a growing number of studies. Green tea research has demonstrated that it may be an effective anticancer agent for breast cancer, lung cancer, kidney cancer and prostate cancer, among others. Studies have shown a link between green tea and weight loss, and the ability to modulate energy metabolism, aid in body fat regulation, and possibly promote preferential loss in abdominal fat. Research has also shown that green tea may increase performance for short term memory tasks, as well as being increasing potency of antibiotics. Other peer-reviewed studies link green tea to healthy skin, help with lowering cholesterol, and regulating diabetes. It’s important to keep in mind that many of these studies monitor subjects who drink several cups of green tea per day.

Great combination that makes for a refreshing bright tea

This has become a house staple and we’ve recently started cold brewing for the warmer months. Great with or without a touch of honey.

    Lovely Ginger Taste

Posted by Ruby Moser on 4th Jan 2023

I recently received this and used it to make kombucha. It made a lovely colored kombucha and I enjoy the flavor of ginger that comes through very nicely. I also used the Raspberry Green tea for kombucha and my family enjoyed that also. Thanks for supplying high quality teas!

    Perfect Balance

Posted by Joanna Cahn on 9th Jan 2021

This tea is an amazing combination of citrus and ginger in an awesome green tea. Light, not too much of any one flavor. They nailed it on this blend. I will be buying more!

    Refreshing!

This tea is light and refreshing with its subtle citrus taste. The ginger gives it a lovely balance. Might be my new go-to tea!

    It's an okay tea

Posted by Eileen Rintsch on 15th Nov 2020

I wish it would have a stronger ginger or citrus flavor. I really like a green tea with a strong punch of ginger in the colder months. I hoped this would be it. Instead it is a nice, easy to drink green tea. But I don't really taste ginger or citrus.

Addictively Delicious Organic Citrus Ginger Green Tea

Posted by Anne Mackin on 8th Jun 2018

I've quickly become addicted to this delicious tea and, having quickly run out, just ordered the largest size. Think Gourmet Constant Comment. I add lemon or a touch of fresh orange juice and a tiny bit of honey or maple syrup. You can also add coconut milk, with or without the first additives.

Not partial to green teas, that is until this one!!!! The senses come alive with the smell and taste of the orange and ginger. It is a light and comforting tea. Give this one a try. I will be ordering this one again. The first sip begins the experience.

    Ginger and citrus

Posted by Unknown on 20th Feb 2017

Ginger is wonderful when added to citrus teas. It's also great for upset stomachs. I prefer this iced, cold brew style. You end up with a smooth green tea with refreshing citrus flavor and finishes with a zing from the ginger. When I made this hot, it seemed grassy, bland with spicy notes from the ginger.

Brew organic ginger citrus green tea gongfu style for best results.

Posted by Estelle on 14th Apr 2016

I recently bought the organic ginger citrus green tea and love it. I brewed it gongfu (eastern ceremonial style) and it comes out very smooth with no bitterness at all. Brew with 180 degree water, seep for 15 seconds, use 1 teaspoon of tea. Ginger and citrus taste perfect together. Neither will be too strong and you will love it. Enjoy.

Amazing organic ginger citrus green tea

Posted by Estelle on 14th Apr 2016

You have to try the organic ginger citrus green tea. Absolutely amazing. The blend is perfect. You can taste the ginger as if it just came directly from a fresh piece of ginger root. I cook with ginger root often and it tastes just like that in this tea. The ginger does not overpower the citrus. Beautiful blend. Plan to have this every day. Highly recommend.

    Wonderful!

Posted by Deca on 7th Jan 2016

This tea is wonderful- smells divine, and the combinaction of citrus and ginger is delicious and refreshing. Great for a mid-morning cup when it is cold outside, or even as a breakfast tea since it does have a good caffeine content.

    Wonderful breakfast tea

I have tried many varieties of tea from this company and have fallen for the Citrus Ginger tea. The combination of flavors is wonderful and wakes me up each morning.

    Nice blend of flavors

Posted by Gail on 22nd Apr 2015

I decided to try this tea because I love ginger and citrus and green tea. The idea of the three together sounds perfect. I had bought a similar tea from another tea company that had both the ginger and citrus notes and was very disappointed by the flavor which was very jarring. The Arbor tea has a lovely smooth blend of all three flavors that makes it beautiful! Will be another staple tea for me.

    Ginger

Posted by S. Nelson on 16th Jan 2013

I have to respectfully disagree with my fellow reviewers on this particular tea. I found the ginger to be a bit too much (it reminded me of the times I'd chew candied ginger when I was pregnant) and the citrus to be a little harsh and bitter. I generally love the teas I've tried from this site, but this particular blend was gifted to a coworker who enjoyed it.

    Fabulous tea!

Posted by Jen on 16th Jan 2013

This is an amazing tea. I am not usually a fan of ginger teas because the ones I've tried have such a strong ginger taste. This tea is the PERFECT balance of ginger, citrus and green tea. You really can taste each element. I can't get enough of it.

    Gingerly

Posted by Fred Cox on 17th Nov 2009

It is a balancing act to include enough ginger to get the full flavor but stop short of the medicated taste of too much ginger. They nailed it with this one - a sprightly green tea with just the right amount of ginger. The citrus bits add a gentle spice note. This one is just plain fun!

    A tasty blend

Posted by Bill Edwards on 19th Nov 2007

This is a tasty blend but I am looking for something with a bit more pronounced ginger. Aubrey is 'right on ' in saying that the green holds up. It is a nice delicate blending. As a nurse I am always on the prowl for a tea with enough ginger to soothe a ruffled stomach. This tea should be well received by the most timid of tummies but not enough ginger in it for true medicinal value.
